In 2017, we decided to open Kumar Quality Medical Care in Norton, Virginia. Prior to that, Dr. Vijay Kumar practiced in southwest Virginia for over nine years. Our philosophy is simple---- Quality Patient Care that treats the whole person. This means that we believe in spending time with our patients. We want to make every patient feel as though our office is home. We thrive on a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. About Vijay Kumar, MD

Vijay Kumar, MD, takes a holistic approach with each patient he sees at Kumar Quality Medical Care in Norton, Virginia. He works to make his patients feel like family, delivering top-tier family care and aesthetics services.

At every turn, Dr. Kumar’s top priority is his patients’ satisfaction. He takes the time to educate each patient about their condition and strives to provide holistic, integrated care that helps them feel their best.

He has worked to create a welcoming and safe environment in his office. He never wants patients to feel rushed or unheard. Instead, his personable approach builds relationships with patients of all ages.

Individuals looking for a dedicated provider will find it in Dr. Kumar. He has experience in preventing and treating a range of chronic diseases and offers primary care to patients of all ages. He even makes house calls to many of his geriatric patients and serves as medical director of Wise Heritage Hall Nursing Home and the Laurels Assisted Living Facility.

What’s more, he has chosen to offer treatments with Cynosure® Icon™ and TempSure™ lasers at his office so he can help his patients toward their aesthetic goals.

Our Front Office Team

From the very first moment that you decide to become our patient, to your visits and wellness exams, you will become very familiar with our front office team. They are always happy to help guide you through the check-in and check-out process as well as answer any questions that you may have.

Our Nursing Team

Our friendly nursing team will be able to meet your clinical needs such as prescription refills, prior authorizations, referrals, allergy shots, and much more. They will also be present to aid with any in- office procedures and to take care of your needs during any of our aesthetic procedures.

Courtney

Office Manager

Courtney is from Wise, Va. She's married and has 2 kids. Courtney's been at KQMC for 7 years now, working as the office manager. Her favorite color is orange, and favorite season is summer. In her spare time she enjoys her time outdoors. Whether it's taking a walk, planting flowers, riding 4wheelers/side by sides, playing horseshoes or being at the beach. If she's not at work, she's at home with her family and she wouldn't have it any other way.

Lisa

Executive Aide

Meet Lisa, a proud Wise, Virginia native who cherishes her close-knit family life. She's married with two sons, Ethan and Cayden, and shares her home with two lovable dogs, Daisy and Duke. While she doesn’t have a clear favorite color, she leans toward a soft pastel purple. Lisa’s heart belongs to summer—she loves everything about it, from beach trips and lake days to camping, fishing, and planting flowers. When she’s not soaking up the sunshine outdoors, you’ll likely find her in the kitchen cooking up a hearty meal or tidying up her home with a smile.

Sharon is a medical assistant from Dante, Va. She comes to us with 5 years primary care experience and 15 years in healthcare. Sharon is

dedicated to helping her patients with her faith based patient centered care.

Melissa brings a wealth of experience to our team as a Medical Assistant. Following her recent return to her hometown in Pound from Tennessee, where she lived for 13 years, Melissa is now utilizing her 25+ years of medical expertise to make a positive impact in Wise county, driven by her passion for helping others.
